If you go down to the woods today…

If you go down to the woods today, you're sure of a big surprise... Armed with our picnic blankets and special teddies we marched off into the woods where we were met by a big surprise. Deep in the woods, in a middle of a clearing Big Ted and all his teddy friends were having a Teddy Bears' Picnic. The picnic blankets were adorned with lots of edible delights, sandwiches, cakes, biscuits and fruit – a real feast for the eyes!  Big Ted invited all the Baby Explorers to join them at their special picnic, so we took our places amongst our new teddy friends and waited for Big Ted to start the fun.

Before we got stuck into the picnic delights we joined the Teddies in some of their favourites games, we danced the Teddy Bears' twist, played our instruments and joined Big Ted for his favourite tickling game, where we wiggled and giggled along to the music.

After the games the Baby Explorers sat down with the teddies and enjoyed their picnic tea. The highlight was the Jelly Messy Play! Some babies explored the squishy slimy jelly with their toes, others used their hands. It was a brand new texture for a lot of our babies and great for their sensory development. It was wonderful to see the joy the babies got out of exploring the jelly and many of our parents were able to capture these magical moments on camera.

After a quick wipe down after the picnic we were all beginning to feel quite sleepy so the babies and teddies laid down under the stars. We listened to Big Ted's lullaby which soothed us to sleep and we watched the shooting stars as they shot across the moonlit night sky. It was a wonderful relaxing end to our Teddy Bears' Picnic.
